Northminster Presbyterian Church, <a href=ailment Food Bank, vialis 40mg Volunteers, cialis bill Greer” src=”” />Our community has faced very difficult financial circumstances over the past few years, and many people are unable to provide the needs for themselves and of their families. The Northminster Presbyterian Church had the desire to help these families, so the NPC Food Bank was established in the spring 2009 by church member Bill Greer. He and his wife Elma have been active members of NPC and the community for many years, and Bill brings a wealth of food bank knowledge and volunteer experience to Outreach Ministry.

The response from the members of Northminster Presbyterian Church was overwhelming. Nineteen church volunteers stepped forward to help assemble shelves, stock food and organize the operation. As the NPC Food Bank opened its doors to the public in June 2009, there were many dedicated Christian volunteers to lovingly welcomed and assisted people who needed help. The group began distributing food to families out of a single room. As the demand grew, the facility was expanded to a second room to receive and store food.

Most of the original and many new volunteers, including some of our youth who willingly help during the summer months, still give their time and energy to this worthwhile Christian ministry. The volunteers have made lasting friendships and have come to know many of the families in our community.

NPC Food Bank partners with the major local food banks to acquire the food, and is funded solely by donations. In one years’ time, NPC Food Bank distributed 70,000 lbs. of food to families in our church and local community. The Food Bank is open to the public one day a week for four hours, and supplies food for an average of 200 families a month. Hundreds of volunteer hours go into the operation of this Outreach project.
