The NPC Women’s Group are working throughout the summer and into the fall of 2011, preparing Hygiene Kits to be sent to Church World Service. This agency works with partners to eradicate hunger and poverty and to promote peace and justice around the world. CWS helps many countries that are devastated from floods, drought, earthquakes, famine and other disasters.
The kits are especially needed now more than ever, to replace the ones that were sent to Japan earlier this year, after the devastating Japanese earthquake and tsunami. The NPC Womens Group will gather the Hygiene Kits in the fall and they will be shipped to Church World Service for distribution.
To assemble a Hygiene Kit you will need the following items:
• One hand towel measuring approximately 16”x 28”(no fingertip or bath towels )
• One washcloth
• One wide-tooth comb
• One nail clipper
• One bar of soap (bath size in wrapper)
• One toothbrush (in original packaging)
• Six standard size Band-Aids
Place all items in a one gallon plastic bag with a zipper closure. Remove excess air from the bag and seal. Please do not add toothpaste to the Hygiene Kit. Cartons of toothpaste that have an extended expiration date will be added to Hygiene Kit shipments prior to their being shipped.
Hygiene Kit value: $10
Processing/Shipping Cost: $2 per Kit
