Long time member Gloria Oldham went home to our Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 17th. Gloria and her family have been attending NPC since the mid 1980’s. She was active in teaching our youth for many years. Anytime potlucks and special events were scheduled, Gloria was there: planning, organizing, cooking, cleaning and managing the kitchen. She was instrumental in the many years of the Deep Pit BBQ Fall event and the large amount of food prepared. In 2012, Gloria obtained a restaurant managers certification with the Health Department in order to co-operate our food bank under the umbrella of St. Mary’s Food Bank. Gloria was appointed to be the Manager in 2015 of the Food Bank. Three to four days a week, Gloria was at NPC, in the food bank, assisting with sorting, storing, completing paperwork of received foods and managing the required clientele paperwork. Weekly greeting and getting to know the families in the area who came to receive food assistance. Gloria worked faithfully in the food bank until 2022 when she was no longer physically able to assist. Despite not being able to be their daily, she was consulted and updated weekly on its management.
Celebration of Life for Gloria Oldham will be Sunday, December 15th at 1:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary followed by a light meal. RSVP would be appreciated to plan for food. A Zoom link will be provided upon request.
